A celebration of dance as research, art and a way of living.
A week dedicated to the investigation and experimentation of improvisation, somatic practices, dance and performance research.
Through performance, workshops, public conversation and collective practice.
The main event of this week is the dance performance PERFORMING UNDERSCORE #2 at Dansstationen in Malmö on September 17th. As a tribute to Steve Paxton and other pioneers of experimental dance forms who passed away recently, we have invited dancers of this lineage to join us on the stage of Dansstationen in a performance experiment.
A unique week touching on topics such as dance history and lineage, dancer as a living archive, philosophy, politics and community.
We are living archives. In the five past years pioneers of improvisational and somatic forms of dance passed away such as Steve Paxton, Trisha Brown, Nancy Stark Smith, Mary Overlie and Joan Skinner. Above events want to make visible the practices and knowledge of this lineage and strengthen our sense of community by dancing together.

Possible through support from Dansstationen, Alma Söderberg Studio, Danscentrum Syd and Galleri FRANK, as well as the volunteer effort of the organizer Tuva Hildebrand and peer support.
